Where to dive in the Caribbean: Lesser Antilles

Diving in Lesser Antilles

Where to dive in the Caribbean? You should definitely consider the Lesser Antilles. It is an archipelago made up of hundreds of small islands. It separates the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. Basically, the archipelago is divided into Windward Islands and the Leeward Islands. Diving in Lesser Antilles provides an unforgettable experience – all the more so that in a short time you can visit a lot of spots independent on one another.

Diving locations:

There are many dive sites on this diverse archipelago, and the majority of the Lesser Antilles is divided between certain European countries. The following countries have their sphere of influence on the archipelago: United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and France. Independent States, in turn, include: Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts and Nevis or Antigua and Barbuda. It’s worth visiting the Dutch island of Saba – considered by many divers as the best dive site in the Lesser Antilles. Also noteworthy is the island of St. Martin, whose waters are full of stately vegetation and marine animals.

Diving conditions:

The weather conditions in the whole of the archipelago are very similar, and the average water temperature during the year is in the neighborhood of 27°C. One of the best diving spots in the Caribbean is located among the Lesser Antilles – Prickly Pear Cays, near Anguila. Rich coral reefs and the accompanying fauna entice divers to return. Saint Kitts and Nevis will greet tourists with beaches surrounded by lush greenery, and Sint Eustatius will offer a walk in the direction of both the spectacular volcano among the tropical vegetation. Especially worthy of attention is Dominica – probably the least discovered Caribbean island that may be waiting just for you.
