Where to dive in Croatia: Island of Rab

Diving in island of Rab

Rab is a Croatian Island which will guarantee a very high diversity of dive sites. In addition to beautiful walls covered with stunning coral, you can explore the caverns, wrecks, or canyons during diving in island of Rab. On the island you will find three diving centers. You can get to it by a 20-minute ferry ride.

Diving conditions

The Island of Rab is a paradise for technical divers. There are several wrecks which, because of their location of 40 to 120 meters below the water, are rarely explored. Thus, they have preserved in excellent condition and have been beautifully covered with underwater vegetation.
At a depth of about 30 meters, at a place called Zazarhut, there is a beautiful cave. The place where water descents is amazing, beautiful spot. The rocks give the impression as if they were falling into the sea. To reach the cave, you must sail along the wall falling 70 meters deep. You can also enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna of the Adriatic Sea.

Rab is a place that surprises tourists. On the eastern side, the island does not look like a lush, green vacation destination. Quite the opposite. It often gives the impression of being rocky and deserted. However, when you explore the island more closely, inland between dives, you will find a rich and thriving natural habitat with diverse flora and fauna.

The island of Rab is a great place in which both technical and recreational divers will find great underwater spots corresponding to their abilities and skills.

Łukasz Głowacki

I’ve been diving for almost 10 years. The underwater world won my heart quite quickly. From the very beginning I wanted to be a good diver and partner, so I kept practising until I got a Master Scuba Diver PADI degree. I dive in hot and cold waters around the world. The thing I like most about diving is the sense of weightlessness and possibility to dive in the depths. I’m not too demanding when it comes to the landscapes, although I do enjoy their diversity, so I like diving in different places and conditions.
