Where to dive in Egypt: Hurghada

Diving in Hurghada

Hurghada is a town in Eastern Egypt with over 160 thousand residents, located on the shores of the Red Sea. It is one of the most important tourist destinations in the country (with an international airport at its forefront). So you have already known where to dive in Egypt. Diving in Hurghada is very popular among the lovers of diving due to the conditions it offers for beginners, as well as professionals.

Diving conditions

Shaab El Erg is the northernmost dive site which you can reach from Hurghada by boat during a one-day trip. It is rich in beautiful, hard corals. It is known for groups of dolphins which are happy to swim among tourists in the windless summer days, if they are not scared away.

Shab Abu Kalawa, in turn, is an unusual place for lovers of underwater photography. It is relatively rarely visited by divers, so you get the impression that it has been unexplored so far. Hard corals are covered with sandy background of this reef. It is recommended for experienced divers, because of the currents.

Experienced divers will find many attractions in Umm Gammar. Here you will find a small cave at a depth of 28 m. While photo enthusiasts will be able capture big moray eels and turtles.
