Where to dive in Spain: Balearic Islands

Diving in Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands are a beautiful archipelago located just off the East coast of Spain which offers many dream diving spots. Some of the most famous of about 200 islands are Mallorca and Ibiza. There are two official languages here: Spanish and Catalan. Beautiful coral reefs, clear water and wonderful wrecks – this is just the beginning of diving in Balearic Islands.

Diving conditions

Conditions in the Balearic Islands are favourable for diving all year round. The local waters reach the highest temperature in the period from June to August (up to 25°C), however, please note that this is the peak season when many people take on diving expeditions in these areas.
The Balearic Islands have more than 40 dive centers and dozens of other places that are perfect for diving where in addition to the beautiful flora and fauna of the Mediterranean Sea and cliffs, we can admire 14 wrecks from various historical periods. Particularly in the areas of Majorca and Minorca, you will also find amazing caves full of stalactites and stalagmites. The high visibility under water reaches an average of 30 feet.
The Balearic Islands are a place suitable for divers at each level of training. We can perform both recreational diving for beginners and the more difficult – technical diving.

Łukasz Głowacki

I’ve been diving for almost 10 years. The underwater world won my heart quite quickly. From the very beginning I wanted to be a good diver and partner, so I kept practising until I got a Master Scuba Diver PADI degree. I dive in hot and cold waters around the world. The thing I like most about diving is the sense of weightlessness and possibility to dive in the depths. I’m not too demanding when it comes to the landscapes, although I do enjoy their diversity, so I like diving in different places and conditions.
